Description:
Overviews the changes from the 2015 to the 2018 IBC®. Identifies changes in organization and code requirements and the applicability of these
requirements to design, plan review and inspection. This course uses the Significant Changes to the International Building Code 2018 Edition.
Goal:
The goal of Significant Changes to the International Building Code® 2018 Edition is to familiarize building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and others in the construction industry with many of the important changes in the 2018 International Building Code® (IBC®). This publication is designed to assist those code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred and, more important, understanding the reason behind the change.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be better able to:
• Identify the most significant differences between the 2015 IBC and the 2018 IBC.
• Explain the differences between the current and previous edition.
• Identify key changes in organization and code requirements.
• Identify the applicability of design, plan review and inspection requirements.

A free course workbook is included. Attendees will receive a Preferred Provider Certificate of Training for 0.6 Continuing Education Units.
